We hosted the European Lab ”The effect of Brain Drain in social innovation”
Do we implement innovative ideas in social issues? Is it difficult to apply new methodologies?

At among, we collaborate with professionals, organizations, and agencies that support change to cultivate the conditions for implementing innovation. From our experience, we have identified a number of factors that hinder innovation in Greece, such as the lack of public education, the absence of tools in the Greek language, Brain Drain, and more.
We decided to invite experts from all over Europe, members of the Bosch Alumni Network, to Thessaloniki in order to examine how Brain Drain blocks social innovation and to find collective solutions.
On the 1st day, we captured the different perspectives on “Drain Drain” and “Brain Gain,” we examined the terminology surrounding social innovation and we discussed the concepts “Brain Drain,” “Brain Gain,” and “Social Innovation”.
On the 2nd day, we focused specifically on the Greek ecosystem by hosting representatives from the REGENERATION program, the organization STIMULLI for social innovation, and the General Secretariat for Lifelong Learning of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs.
On the 3rd day, we concentrated on systemic change and we identified the factors that affect designing solutions and proposing ideas.
On the 4th day, we developed European-level partnerships that we could implement to support social innovation.

This meeting was supported by the Bosch Alumni Network, a collaboration between the Robert Bosch Foundation and the International Alumni Center.
