A participatory training summer for the European Solidarity Corps
How can you develop a participatory training for young people?

In collaboration with ”Fix in Art” and the “Green Week Festival” teams, we designed and coordinated an educational program for 20 volunteers from 5 countries participating in the European Solidarity Corps.
The overall goal was to strengthen the M-eating Hub initiative, which focuses on activities related to “No Food Waste.”
For this program, we designed 6 training sessions and 5 mentoring workshops on topics like:
▶️ Project Management
▶️ Visual notetaking
▶️ Creation of a participatory budget (Co-budgeting)
▶️ Project evaluation
▶️ Procedures to enhance team cohesion
▶️ Leadership development and strengthening trust
▶️ Training and guidance in collective decision making
For the design and implementation of the 11 training sessions and mentoring activities, we employed a human-centered approach in a hybrid model. The workshops were inclusive and took into account the diverse backgrounds and roles of the participants (volunteers, employees, and community members). Additionally, various exercises were used to fulfill different learning styles. Participants had the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of all the new concepts and practice them throughout the program
