A workshop to enhance the communication between the Municipality of Thessaloniki and civil society
How can we overcome communication barriers with municipal employees when civil society wants to organise an initiative?

An interactive workshop that hosted Municipality employees and active citizens to break communication barriers.
In collaboration with the Municipality of Thessaloniki and a group of active citizens, we organized a full-day workshop to discuss ways in which the Municipality and civil society could communicate more efficiently.
In Thessaloniki, citizen groups take initiatives and organize actions that improve living conditions in the city, inspire cohesion within their communities, and advocate for public space. Eeffective communication between the two parties will facilitate social actions and lead to better outcomes.
- How can civil society’s actions encourage even more citizens’ participation?
- How can effective communication through the Municipality be developed to inform all citizens about ongoing activities in the city?
- What procedures should be followed for the operation of a communication campaign, using the resources available to the Municipality?
This workshop brought together active citizens and employees of the Municipality of Thessaloniki for the first time, provided useful answers to the above questions, and unleashed the potential of both sides for the benefit of all citizens.
