172+ citizens co-design the Sustainable Development Strategy of the Municipality of Kavala

172+ citizens of Kavala participated in a series of participatory workshops to identify the city’s needs and support the design of the Municipality of Kavala’s Sustainable Development Strategy.

For 2 years, in collaboration with Place Identity, the Municipality of Kavala and the Municipal Public Benefit Enterprise of Kavala (Dimofeleia), we designed a series of participatory workshops that aimed at co-developing the Sustainable Development Strategy of the Municipality of Kavala.

Through these workshops, 172+ participants:

(a) Developed actions and initiatives for local development and high-quality public spaces in Kavala.

(b) Gained detailed insights into the potential projects of the Municipality of Kavala’s Sustainable Development Strategy.

(c) Became familiar with participatory practices and methodologies.

(d) Became researchers for their city and collected information, resources, and materials.

✔️ Planning small-scale interventions in public spaces

The workshops are a deliverable of the project “Publicity and Citizen Awareness Actions in the Implementation Framework of the Municipality of Kavala’s Sustainable Urban Development Strategy”, as part of the Operational Program “Eastern Macedonia and Thrace 2014-2020” and are funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
