Methodology

We collaborated with the Office of Resilient Thessaloniki, the Business and Cultural Development Center (KEPA), “Students for Sustainability” and the innovation ecosystem “OK!Thess”. Four (4) teams developed their unique idea, created business plans and presented them to an erpertised jury in just 24 hours!

Impact

Climathon was a very successful partnership between the municipality, public stakeholders and private organizations. Together, we created the optimal environment to host motivated citizens to work on their ideas combating climate change impact. The intense 24 hours of implementation depicted the issue’s real urgency! At the same time, the dedication of the team members to stay awake all night developing their ideas, receiving feedback and re-organizing their pitching was astonishing. This bootcamp offered the participants a voice to present their structured ideas to the Municipality of Thessaloniki, strengthening this way both the civil society and the citizens’ direct participation.
